Why visit
A historic fortified hill above the Vltava with ramparts, parkland, a basilica and the national cemetery. The hill was an important early Přemyslid stronghold and later part of Prague’s fortification system; its myths and cemetery also give it a strong place in Czech national memory. It is included because it adds a distinctive experience to a realistic Prague or regional itinerary rather than acting as a filler stop.
What you will see
- Rampart views.
- Basilica of St Peter and St Paul.
