Why visit
A major royal castle set above the forested Berounka region west of Prague. Křivoklát developed as a medieval royal hunting castle and later served administrative, residential and prison functions, leaving a strong Gothic core. It is included because it adds a distinctive experience to a realistic Křivoklát or regional itinerary rather than acting as a filler stop.
