Why visit
A remarkably intact riverside old town of winding lanes, Renaissance façades and views beneath the castle. The town grew around a Vltava crossing and castle under powerful noble families, preserving a dense medieval and Renaissance urban form recognised by UNESCO. It is included because it adds a distinctive experience to a realistic Český Krumlov or regional itinerary rather than acting as a filler stop.
