Why visit
A monumental eighteenth-century Baroque column dominating Olomouc’s Upper Square and recognised by UNESCO. Built after a period of plague and war, the richly sculpted monument expresses Moravian Baroque civic and religious culture on an exceptional scale. It is included because it adds a distinctive experience to a realistic Olomouc or regional itinerary rather than acting as a filler stop.
