Wildlife sanctuary and environmental centre focused on rescued brown bears and large-carnivore conservation. ARCTUROS was founded in the early 1990s in response to the exploitation of captive dancing bears and wider threats to large carnivores in Greece. Its sanctuary near Nymfaio houses rescued animals that cannot return to the wild and supports conservation education. The visit is strongest when you focus on rescued brown bears, conservation interpretation and forest setting.
