Why visit
Puntukas Stone is worth time for its the meeting of geological history and twentieth-century national commemoration in a woodland setting. The visit combines massive granite surface, carved aviator reliefs and surrounding forest paths, making the site useful for understanding glacial transport of erratic boulders and the memorial culture around the two pilots. It rewards a slower look at the contrast between natural rock form and deliberately carved memorial detail and fits naturally with Anykščiai Treetop Walking Path. The experience is particularly relevant to travellers interested in geology, aviation history and woodland walking, while the setting gives the historical or natural story a clear physical context.
